Twitter says the elected world leaders have great influence on our society and play a vital role in the dialogue. Shielding a world leader’s account or deleting their controversial tweets will hide information that people should see and argue about. This will not silence the leader, but will hinder discussion around the rhetoric. Twitter says it will conduct a review of world leaders ‘ tweets in accordance with the rules in a political context.
