Solidot | FCC voted to overturn net neutrality

Five members of the FCC committee, with three votes in favour, and two against abolished the principle of net neutrality established by Mr Obama: Trump appointed FCC Chairman Ajit Pai And two Republican members voted in favour of the vote, while two Democrats voted against it. The “network neutrality” rule of 2015 requires broadband providers to treat all network traffic equally, without blocking specific content or slowing its flow, or providing faster access to preferred sites and services. The biggest beneficiaries of this change include Comcast, US telephone and telegraph companies and Verizon, which offer Internet access to most consumers, cable and wireless carriers.
