Eric Schmidt no longer serves as Alphabet’s executive chairman


alphabet announces ,eric Schmidt Positions will be transitioned from the Executive Chairman to the technical advisor, but will remain on the board. Eric Schmidt, who worked as CTO and CEO at Sun in his early years, was CEO of Google in 2001 and has been in office until 2011, handing the CEO position to co-founder Larry Page. His Gairen executive chairman (the so-called Executive Chairman, who is the Chairman of the Board and participates in the day-to-day management of the company), continues to serve as executive chairman after Google becomes alphabet. After Schmidt leaves office, Alphabet will pick out a non-executive chairman at the next board of directors.
